THE MUSIC VIDEOS
I didn't want to be in my first music video, I didn't even want to be on the cover of the single! That's why I show my back and my belly on both covers. I wasn't sure if my image would help my music. I wanted to let the music speak for itself, but still visually convey that this project is about and for the gay bear community.
I had been friends with Jeremy Morse on Facebook for a while when, in 2016, as I was thinking about what to do for the video, Jeremy posted a video on his profile one Friday afternoon. He had finished a long week at work and for the first time in a while his back wasn't hurting. He was on a trip and decided to strip down from his hotel room and dance in his underwear. I related to this because I had been suffering from back pain for a while and something lit up in my mind. The next day I wrote to him and asked him if he would be interested in dancing on the video. He told me that he had danced professionally when he was younger, but thought those days were far behind him, but that he'd do it anyway.
Luckily for me, both he and Jose had plans to attend Bear Pride in Chicago, so I asked Jose to shoot the video, which he did, with the help of Dennis Murray and Dennis Dippary of Macho Events, on a sunny morning, guerrilla style, at various locations around the city.
Three weeks later, Jeremy shot another video from his pool, and this time it was retweeted by Justin Timberlake, making him an overnight Internet sensation... just in time for the release of I'll Be Good.
