Benjamin Koll was already making waves with his first single “I’ll Be Good” in the summer of 2016, when he released his follow up single “2menkiss”.
In a world where it seems to be a backlash against all that has been positively done in the LGBTQIA community, we need to be reminded that love is stronger and more important that any hate speech or bullying. It is time to keep standing strong, and to show everyone that love just can't be wrong, no matter its shape or color. Benjamin delivers a track full of funky basslines and chunky guitar riffs, making his deep vocals really stand out on top of it. Check out the two club mixes included. The Classic Club Mix is a house reinterpretation of the song, and the Paradise garage Club Mix a trip back to that sound we loved so much, true house bliss.
#2menkiss celebrates love in all of its shapes and stands for love, and kisses.
After getting amazing reviews and support with “2MenKiss”, Benjamin Koll released this new single with remixes by Jose Spinnin Cortes and Erick T.
Jose Spinnin Cortes stays close to his staple tribal sound, yet keeping it classy and melodic. Benjamin's vocals really breathe and stand out on the verses of this mix, but when the refrain hits it really comes alive with a beautiful chord progression and synth-line. This mix is perfect for building a set into the peak time.
Erick T takes the song to a new realm with a progressive hands-in-the-air festival mix, which is uplifting and energetic. don't be surprised if you hear this on festivals all over the place!
I had discovered the photo set my dear friends Ivan & Gabo did with Claudio and Nibaldo on their Flickr, I think it was in 2013. We all met in person for the first time in 2014 and it was awesome. Ivan and Gabo are one of the most generous and talented couple of photographers I have ever met. What I love about them is that, like the iconic Gianorso, they look inside the person. Their portraiture always tells you something about them. Claudio and Nibaldo are such a sweet couple. When I wrote 2menkiss, I immediately knew I wanted them on the cover because I wanted that love energy there.
Then I came up with the video idea of inviting couples from all over the world to kiss for the camera and I asked Ivan and Gabo and Claudio and Nibaldo if they would like to redo the photos into a video and I was in heaven when they agreed.
They are just what the song needed to make the message even more relevant.
We got in touch with bear couples from all over the world and asked them to send us their kisses. This is what happened (and to this day Youtube still thinks has it labelled offensive… ).
Months later I edited a remix video with Jose Spinnin’s remix, adding new kisses and Youtube also restricted it and labeled as offensive, proof that we still have a lot of road ahead of us.
Then for my first album “Songs For A Better Future” I did a special pianopella version, and edited a final video just with Claudio and Nibaldo’s shots, filmed by Ivan & Gabo in Buenos Aires (Argentina). Guess what Youtube did?
